Shipping

How does the Vinoshipper system work?

Once a customer completes their purchase, our system automatically sends an order alert to your company by email.

I just received the order notification from Vinoshipper. What do I do now?

Every new order includes instructions for fulfilling it.

If you're logged in to your Vinoshipper account, select the link in the email to go directly to the order. Or log in, go to Orders > Order List, and select the order.

Print the packing slip, which lists the items ordered, and the UPS label.

Pack the box and attach the label to the shipping carton. Select UPS Pick Up and a UPS truck will come at no charge to you, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Or drop the package off at UPS yourself.

Why do you use only UPS?

We've integrated our order entry, shipping, and tracking system with UPS. This keeps shipping safe, legal, and affordable.

How do I track shipments?

Once you print the shipping label, the tracking number is added to your order and emailed to the customer when UPS scans the label. You, the customer, and Vinoshipper can all track the shipment.

How many attempts will UPS make to deliver an order?

UPS makes one delivery attempt in most areas. If no one signs for the package, it goes to the nearest UPS Access Point for pickup. Rural routes get three attempts.

This keeps shipments in a temperature-controlled environment instead of in a truck for days.

Customers find their Access Point in the tracking details and pick up their package whenever works for them.

How do I know that someone 21 or older will take possession of an alcohol product once it's delivered?

We use two layers of verification. When the buyer registers, our system checks that they're 21 or older. UPS drivers also physically hand the shipment only to someone who proves they're 21 or older.

Where can wine, mead, or cider be shipped?

  • Shipping rules and regulations vary by state. See the list here.
  • International shipments aren't available at this time.

Can I redirect a shipment to a new address?

Yes. The shipping fee applies to the sale.

  • Vinoshipper processes the order and covers merchant processing fees and compliance checks.
  • Vinoshipper remits the sales tax collected to the producer.
  • The producer pays and files sales and excise taxes for all sales made on their permits.
  • The producer is responsible for excise taxes in every state shipped to on their permits.
  • Signature-ready reports are available to download in your account to help with this reporting.
  • Print, sign, insert a check, and send.

Payment

Can I see how much money is in my account?

Your sales information is available anytime on your Sales History page.

When do I receive funds?

Daily settlements use Stripe Connect to transfer payments within three business days of the sale.

Note: There's also an optional transfer method. Settlements happen twice a month, reducing the settlement tracking and accounting you need to do. Payments are processed as follows:

  • Sales from the 1st to the 15th are transferred on the last day of the month.
  • Sales from the 16th to month's end are transferred on the 15th of the following month.

Can Vinoshipper's sales information be imported into my accounting system?

Yes. We offer an order export API you can use to export order information. You can also export all of your sales history data. See Reports in your account.
