The Vinoshipper mobile POS app supports ID scanning to find, add, edit a customer.
IMPORTANT: IDs are run through an age checker to verify that the person on the cards exists and they are of age. Always perform your own age verification checks and confirm that the ID matches the person. The age checker may return results such as a suspected fake ID. Use your discretion and company policy for ID checks.

From customer list
Search for existing customer
- Go to Customers.
- Tap Scan ID.
- Scan the back side of the ID (the barcode side).
- If the customer exists in your account, they will appear under Possible Matches.
- Tap the correct existing customer to add them to the cart, add them to a club, etc.
Add a customer
- Go to Customers.
- Tap Scan ID or Add Customer > Scan ID.
- Scan the back side of the ID (the barcode side).
- Toggle on the information you would like to add and tap Create.
- Add in any remaining required and optional information.
- Verify their age.
- Save the customer.
Edit a customer
- Go to Customers.
- Scan the customer's ID or search for their name.
- If there are multiple possible matches, tap the correct person.
- When looking at their profile, tap their name to edit information.
- Tap Scan ID and scan the barcode on their ID.
- Toggle on any information you would like to add to their account.
From checkout
- Add items to the cart.
- Tap Guest Customer (for pick up orders) or A Customer is Required (for shipped orders) at the the top of the cart.
- Tap Scan ID.
- Scan the back side of the ID (the barcode side).
- If the customer exists in your account, they will appear under Possible Matches. If they don't already have a profile in your account, toggle on any information you would like to add and tap Create.
Notes
- If Scan ID is greyed out, you most likely need to enable camera access to the Vinoshipper app. Go to your device settings and enable the camera. Restart the app and ID scanning should be available.
- You still need to verify the ID matches the person and use your discretion to decipher fake IDs. If the age checker suspects an ID is fake, we will send you a warning but please use your best judgement whether the warning appears or not.
- If the ID is not scanning, ensure there is not a glare or reflection on the barcode.
