Trade sample & Competition orders

Trade samples and competition entries go out as regular orders with the price adjusted and a note on the gift message.

Note: There are no clear federal guidelines for trade sample or competition quantities. Two bottles per SKU is the general ceiling, but limits vary by state. Check with our compliance team before you send a sample into a state you haven't sampled into before, and we'll confirm what that state allows.

Set up the account

Trade sample recipients are set up as wholesale customer accounts. Follow the steps in Wholesale accounts, discounts, and orders.

Note: Converting a customer account to wholesale is permanent. It can't be changed back.

Place the order

1. On the customer's profile, click Actions > Place Order and add an existing product.
2. You can adjust the price to $0.00. Damages are processed at that same price, so bear that in mind.
3. In the Gift Note, include "Sample not for resale".
4. Pay the shipping with a credit card, or with cash if that's active on your account.

Damaged or lost orders

Email customerservice@vinoshipper.com and we'll place the replacement order and follow up with UPS. There's no charge for it.
