Set future ship date on open order

This allows you to set future ship dates for customers and keep the order off the Open Orders email.

Individual order

  1. Go to ORDERS - OPEN SHIPMENTS.
  2. Click on the order number to be modified.
  3. Click MODIFY ORDER and choose HOLD UNTIL.
NOTE: If you have created a shipping label already, you will need to cancel the label and throw it away. Then modify the hold date. You will create a new label at the time of shipping.
  4. Select the date that the order will ship.
  5. Click SAVE.

  6. Email the customer to let them know the order has been held (why and until when). This will help with customer satisfaction.

Multiple orders

  1. Go to ORDERS - OPEN SHIPMENTS.
  2. Use the check boxes on the left of the order number to select each order. If you want to select all open orders, click the check box next to Actions and click SELECT ALL.
  3. Click ACTIONS, then CHANGE SHIP DATE.
  4. Choose the date and select SAVE ORDERS>

Reminders

  • Useful when holding an order for extreme hot or cold weather conditions.

  • Held orders still show in the Order List. In the Dates column, it states the "Hold Until" date.
  • Held orders will not show on the Open Order email Vinoshipper sends 3 days after the order date if the order has a future ship date.

Options for future orders

1. Add notice to website (recommended)

  • Add a predominant notice and/or a pop up on your website to let people know that all orders will be held until a specific date.
  • Customize your order confirmation email to reflect when the orders will be held until. To learn how to customize your emails, click here.
  • To prevent being sent an Open Orders email every day, set a future ship date on the orders (as seen above).

2. Delist products

  • If you do not plan on shipping for an extended period of time (several months), you can delist your products to prevent further sales.
