Abandoned cart emails remind customers about items they left in their shopping cart. These email can include:
- A reminder of the items left behind
- Customer reviews or testimonials to build trust
- A limited time discount to encourage completion of the purchase
Create Abandoned Cart Journey
- Log into Mailchimp
- Click Automations > Customer Journeys
- Click Create Journey
- Click Build from Scratch
- Name your journey (i.e Abandoned Cart Journey)
- Click Choose a starting point
- Click Abandons cart
- Select Vinoshipper from Store name dropdown
- Set Abandoned Cart Wait Time (1 hour is recommended)
- Click Save Starting Point
- Click + > Add a journey step
- Click Send email
- Edit your To & From information
- Write a catchy subject line (i.e. Your cart expires soon)
- Fill in a preview text
- Edit your schedule (Every day as soon as possible is recommended)
- Click Edit Email Content
- Create your email content (it is recommended to save as a template for future use)
- Click Save and Return to Journey
- Click Turn on journey
