Mailchimp Abandoned Cart Journey

Abandoned cart emails remind customers about items they left in their shopping cart. These email can include:

  • A reminder of the items left behind
  • Customer reviews or testimonials to build trust
  • A limited time discount to encourage completion of the purchase



Create Abandoned Cart Journey

  1. Log into Mailchimp
  2. Click Automations > Customer Journeys
  3. Click Create Journey
  4. Click Build from Scratch
  5. Name your journey (i.e Abandoned Cart Journey)
  6. Click Choose a starting point
  7. Click Abandons cart
  8. Select Vinoshipper from Store name dropdown
  9. Set Abandoned Cart Wait Time (1 hour is recommended)
  10. Click Save Starting Point
  11. Click + > Add a journey step
  12. Click Send email
  13. Edit your To & From information
  14. Write a catchy subject line (i.e. Your cart expires soon)
  15. Fill in a preview text
  16. Edit your schedule (Every day as soon as possible is recommended)
  17. Click Edit Email Content
  18. Create your email content (it is recommended to save as a template for future use)
  19. Click Save and Return to Journey
  20. Click Turn on journey
