There are various ways that you can add a product to the cart, described below.
Add product to cart
- From the POS, navigate to Cart.
- Make sure you are adding products to the correct tab by checking the tab name at the top (in blue). To create a new tab click the Tabs button, then click the plus (+) button. For more information on tabs please see Manage tabs.
- Find the product you wish to add to the cart.
- Select product on Product List.
- On iPad:
- On the products side of the screen, find the product you wish to add to the cart. Use the search bar or filters to help find the product, if necessary.
- Tap the product.
- On iPhone:
- From the POS, navigate to Products.
- Find the product you wish to add to the cart. Use the search bar or filters to help find the product, if necessary.
- Tap the product.
- On iPad:
- Scan barcode (see important notes below).
- On iPad:
- From the POS, navigate to Cart.
- Tap the Barcode button next to the search bar on the products side of the screen to launch the scanner.
- Scan the barcode using your device's camera.
- On iPhone:
- From the POS, navigate to Products or Cart.
- If you are in Products click the Barcode button next to the search bar on the products side of the screen to launch the scanner.
- Scan the barcode using your device's camera.
- If you are in Cart click the More Options button on the top right and choose Scan Barcode.
- On iPad:
- Select product on Product List.
- The product details sheet appears. By default, the product details sheet assumes you want to add a quantity of 1 to the cart.
- Adjust the quantity to add to cart, if you wish. You can do so by entering the quantity directly into the quantity field or by tapping the +/- buttons next to the quantity field to increase/decrease the quantity.
- Tap Add to Cart.
- The quantity specified of the product is added to the cart. If this product already existed in the cart, the quantity of the product in the cart is increased by the quantity specified.
Important notes regarding barcode scanning
- In order to match UPC barcodes, you will need to edit your products via the Vinoshipper web interface. Enter the barcode for each product into the UPC field.
- Barcode scanning is only available on devices with iOS/iPadOS 16+, an Apple Neural Engine (ANE) and a camera.
- The first ANE-enabled iPads were the fifth-generation iPad mini (2019), the third-generation iPad Air (2019), and the eighth-generation iPad (2020). All iPads released since have an ANE.
- The first ANE-enabled iPhones were the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR (all 2018). All iPhones since have an ANE.
- The POS must be granted Camera access in order to support barcode scanning.
- There may be other restrictions (e.g. screen time restrictions) that cause your camera to be unavailable for barcode scanning.
