Product category descriptions

Every product you add gets a category and a type. We use these to figure out how to tax and ship that product correctly, so pick the type that comes closest to describing the product.

Packaged alcohol

Type	Definition
Wine	Still wine. This is the default type for packaged wine.
Mead	Honey-based wine.
Sparkling	Sparkling wine.
Sake	Rice wine.
Co-ferments	Wine co-fermented with other fruit or other inputs.
Cider	Cider.
Beer	Beer.
Spirit	Distilled spirits.

Fee

Type	Definition
Admission Fee	A charge for general admission to a space or location.
API Fee	A fee charged through an integration or API.
Membership Fee	A club or membership charge.
Alternating Proprietor Fee	A business-to-business charge where one producer leases space and production capacity to another.
Tasting Fee	A charge for a tasting.
Ticket	Paid admission to a specific dated event, such as a dinner, concert, or festival.
Other Fee	A fee that doesn't fit another fee type.
Reservation	A booking to hold a spot for a scheduled experience.
Tax Exempt Fee	A fee that's exempt from taxation.

Grocery

Type	Definition
Alcohol-Free Beverage (Non-soda)	A non-alcoholic beverage that isn't a soda.
Non-Alcohol / Alcohol Removed	A beverage with alcohol removed, or with an ABV of 0.5% or less.
Candy	Candy.
Soda	Soda.
Other Grocery	General grocery or food that doesn't fit another grocery type.

Merchandise

Type	Definition
Clothing	Apparel.
Books	Books.
Other Merchandise	General merchandise that doesn't fit another merchandise type.

On-site consumption

Type	Definition
By the Glass	A beverage served by the glass for consumption on site.
Packaged Beverage	A non-alcohol beverage product sold for on-site consumption.
Prepared Food	Food prepared and served on site.
Other On-Site Consumption	On-site food or beverage that doesn't fit another type.

Miscellaneous

Type	Definition
Collateral	Physical or digital materials used for promotional purposes.
Credit Deposit	A prepaid product whose value converts to stored credit on the customer's account when purchased.
Digital Good	An intangible product that doesn't require physical delivery.
Donation	A contribution to a cause, charity, or organization.
Gift Card/Certificate	A gift card or certificate that can be redeemed for goods or services.

Bundles and groupings

Type	Definition
Multi-Pack	A bundle of other products sold together.
Product Group	A grouping container rather than a sellable item itself.
