With Tap to Pay on iPhone and the POS, you can accept all types of in-person, contactless payments right on your iPhone — from physical debit and credit cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets — no extra readers or hardware needed. It's easy, secure, and private.
Requirements
- iPhone XS or later.
- A version of iOS released within the past year. Apple supports Tap to Pay on a rolling one-year window — any release from the past year qualifies, including minor and patch updates.
- Tap to Pay won't work on beta versions of iOS.
Note: If your iOS version falls outside the one-year window, Tap to Pay stops working until you update it under Settings > General > Software Update.
Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone
- Confirm your iPhone's Location Services are turned on. Location access is required to accept payments.
- Confirm you're using a passcode to unlock your iPhone. A passcode is required to accept payments with Tap to Pay.
- Open the POS on your iPhone and go to Settings within the app.
- Tap Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone.
- Tap Enable.
- If prompted, allow the POS to use your location while using the app.
- Once enabled, dismiss the Tap to Pay on iPhone Enabled sheet.
- You're ready to collect a payment using Tap to Pay on iPhone.
