These instructions will guide you through the final steps involved in placing an order.

Place order

Once the order details are confirmed and you are ready to place the order, tap Place Order.

Note: Orders are placed from the Cart when the order preference is set to Pick Up and from Checkout when the order preference is set to Ship.

Select payment option

In most cases, you will be required to select a payment option for the order; the only exception is when the customer has enough stored credit to cover the order total.

The following payment options may be available:

  • Use card reader. Choose this option if you want to use your connected card reader to collect a credit card payment. Make sure your reader remains connected by leaving it powered on.
  • Enter card manually. Choose this option if you wish to enter the customer's credit card information manually. This is a good fallback option if you do not have a card reader or if your card reader is not currently connected.
  • Pay with customer's saved card. Choose this option if you would like to charge the customer's card on file. This option only appears if the order is being placed for a customer with a credit card saved to their account.
  • Pay with cash. Choose this option if the customer is paying with cash. This option only appears if your account is set to accept cash payments. Please contact customerservice@vinoshipper.com if you would like more information on enabling this option.

Add tip to order

If tips are enabled for your producer account (see Tip configuration) and the customer is not paying with cash, the Order Summary screen appears when placing an order.

The Order Summary screen allows the customer to review their order and add a tip, if they choose. The customer can choose from three tip percentage options, enter a custom tip amount, or choose no tip. If a tip amount is chosen, it is added to the order total.

To enter a custom tip amount:

  1. On the Order Summary screen, tap Custom Amount.
  2. Enter the desired tip amount.
  3. Tap Done.
  4. The custom tip amount is added to the order total.

Collect payment

Collecting payment is the final step of placing an order.

Use card reader

  1. Once the Insert Card sheet appears, the reader is ready to accept a card that is inserted, tapped or swiped. Ask the customer to provide their card or device if using Apple Pay / Google Pay.
  2. All 4 LED lights on the card reader show as green when reading the card information. When the card read is successful, they are accompanied by 1 beep. If there are 2 beeps, there has been an error and you should retry. See Troubleshoot card reader if the card reader continues to experience issues reading the payment method.
  3. After collecting card details, the app processes the transaction and lets you know if it was approved. This might take a few seconds.
  4. If the transaction is successful, the Order Confirmation appears.
  5. If the transaction is not successful, the app provides error details.

Enter card manually

  1. Enter the customer's credit card information manually or use the Scan card option if you would like to use your camera to enter the card information.
  2. Tap Pay.
  3. If the transaction is successful, the Order Confirmation appears.
  4. If the transaction is not successful, the app provides error details.

Pay with customer's saved credit card

  1. The app processes the transaction using the customer's saved credit card.
  2. If the transaction is successful, the Order Confirmation appears.
  3. If the transaction is not successful, the app provides error details.

Pay with cash

  1. Select/enter the amount of cash tendered.
  2. If the transaction is successful, a sheet appears displaying the amount of change owed to the customer. After dismissing this sheet, the Order Confirmation appears.
  3. If the transaction is not successful, the app provides error details.

Use customer's stored credit

If the order is being placed for a customer with stored credit, the app automatically applies the stored credit to the order total.

  1. If the transaction is successful, the Order Confirmation appears.
  2. If the transaction is not successful, the app provides error details.
