Customer tags

Tags allow you to create custom labels for your customers, making it easy to segment and filter your customer list. Tags sync automatically with Klaviyo and Mailchimp, so your email marketing segments stay up to date without any extra work. Tags are available on the web platform and POS.

Create a tag

1. Go to Customers > Customer Tags.
2. Click New Tag.
3. Add the tag name. This will show on the customer list and profile.
4. Add a description, if applicable. This will be a tooltip when you hover over a tag.
5. Choose the color of the tag.
6. Click Save.

Edit a tag

1. Go to Customers > Customer Tags.
2. Click on the vertical ellipses for the applicable tag.
3. Click Edit.
4. Make changes to the current tag.
5. Click Save.

Retire a tag

1. Go to Customers > Customer Tags.
2. Click on the vertical ellipses for the applicable tag.
3. Click Retire.
   Note: When you retire a tag, it's removed from customer profiles but stays in your tag list. If you ever reactivate it, the tag will automatically be restored to every customer who had it before.

Add a tag to a customer

1. Go to Customers > Customer List.
2. Click on the customer's name to open their profile.

3. Directly under their name, click Add Tag (if they have no existing tags) or Edit Tags (if they already have tags).

4. Search for an existing tag and click it to add it to the profile.

5. To add a tag that doesn't exist yet, type the name and click Add: [tag name].
   You can update the color and description later from the Customer Tag list.

Remove a tag from a customer

1. Go to Customers > Customer List.
2. Click on the customer's name to open their profile.
3. Click Edit Tags.
4. Click the X to remove the tag from this customer.

Filter customers by tags

1. Go to Customers > Customer List.
2. Use the Tags filter at the top of the list. You can select multiple tags.
3. If multiple tags are selected, results will show customers who have any of the selected tags.
